Family Lives

Family Lives is a national charity providing a safe space to talk about any aspect of family life. They understand that parenting can be tough and offer expert advice to help you navigate through both everyday challenges and more serious crises.

How they help: They offer a free, confidential helpline, a 24/7 online chat service, and digital parenting courses. They provide guidance on everything from toddler tantrums and school issues to more complex topics like family breakdowns, bullying, and teen behaviour.

Home-Start

Home-Start is a local community network of trained volunteers - who are often parents themselves - offering a helping hand to families with young children during challenging times.

How they help: They provide compassionate, confidential support through home visits and local family groups. Whether you are feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or are coping with illness or a disability, a volunteer can visit for a few hours a week to offer practical help and a listening ear.

Why visit: If you have at least one child under five and feel you could benefit from some extra parent-to-parent friendship and support to help your family get back on track.

Worthing Central Family Hub (Worthing Library)

Located within Worthing Library, the Central Family Hub is a welcoming town-centre space where families, parents-to-be, and young people can drop in for advice and support.

How they help: They offer a range of free services in one place, including health visitor clinics, midwifery support, and "Stay and Play" groups for little ones. You can also get expert guidance on parenting, childcare, and even help with personal finances or benefits.

Support for Young People: Their "Find It Out" service offers 11 to 25-year-olds a safe space to ask questions about anything from housing to mental health.

Why visit: It’s a great place to meet other local parents in a relaxed social space, use public computers for free, or borrow sensory toys for children with additional needs.
