Repeat
prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions will be issued at the doctor's discretion and are
normally for patients on long term treatment. Requests for prescriptions can be
made in writing, by calling into the surgery during normal opening hours or via
the internet using http://www.myrepeats.com.
Please allow two complete working days before collection
(make allowances for weekends and public holidays). Where possible give exact
drug names when ordering and a day time telephone number you can be contacted on
in case of query.

Patients can collect their prescriptions, send in a stamped self
addressed envelope or we can arrange delivery by a local chemist. We
also have an in-house pharmacy (Shelley Community Pharmacy) which
patients may use if they wish. Please note that you need to allow
48
hours for collection of your dispensed medication. If the in-house
pharmacy is used, your medicine can be collected or delivered by
arrangement.
Please try not to telephone us or the pharmacy to see if your
medication is ready. If you have given us adequate time it will be
ready.
Please tell us if there are any medications on your list that you
no longer require.
The practice operates a recall system to ensure that patients are
reviewed regularly if they have certain chronic diseases. Patients
may receive letters attached to their prescriptions with various
invitations and information regarding appointments and tests in
order to help care for them as effectively as possible.
Please do not ask to speak to a doctor to order
more medicines or ask for them to be issued during an appointment,
our staff are trained to help you with this.
“URGENT" REPEAT
PRESCRIPTION
PLEASE NOTE - We are unable to process repeat
prescription requests ‘on the spot’.
Please try not to run out of your medications but, if you
do, just let our receptionists know and we will make sure that the
request is processed the same day. You will be asked to return later
in the day to collect your medication or you may have it delivered
which may take a little longer.
We will always try to process "urgent" requests the same day but you
will be asked to return later. Certain checks are made to all
prescriptions and a doctor's signature is required.
